I could do nothing but laugh.
Really, I love language, and I love listening to people use (and abuse) language. Listening to on-the-spot responses ranks as one of my favorite pastimes, and that’s especially fun when listening to politicians deliver on-the-spot answers.
Obama picked up some major points this past week as he visited dignitaries of other countries. McCain whined that Obama wasn’t spending any time abroad, so Obama did his tour thing, and the world welcomed him with open arms, embraced his ideas, and treated him as if he were President.
When asked about Obama’s visit to Germany, McCain’s on-the-spot response was that he would rather deliver a speech in Germany as President instead of delivering a speech there as a candidate for President.
Well, Duh!
I must admit that McCain’s response brought a good laugh, so I must admit my gratefulness for that, especially when I heard that he and one of his politicos enjoyed lunch at a German restaurant. I wonder if McCain would rather eat German food as President rather than as a candidate?!?!
